I have a fusible link on my 72, location between my distributor and wiper motor. I am looking to replace it, but having trouble finding one. Any ideas?
If you can't find a properly made fusible link, you need some wire two awg sizes smaller than the wire to which it is connected, with non-flammable insulation (teflon?) and some JB Weld putty epoxy for putting a big bead of epoxy on the connection points between the fusible link and the regular wiring. Then the link can fry when it fails, but NOT start an insulation fire. Fusible links should NEVER fail...except when an electrical device it is protecting causes an electrical short (or an owner does so by leaving power connected to the car when doing electrical work ). Eventually, old age may take its course with fusible links and they may need to be replaced, as a result. It seems that age is somewhere around 40 years.....

I was thinking of taking the fusible link off my son’s 74 donor car, looks the same. It looks original, but in great condition. Anyone think there are any issues?
Thanks to everyone that has replied so far.

They should never burn as they are the last protection before the battery. They should be replaced with new Fusible links. Do it right and the risk of a fire is minimized.
