Side mount headers recommendation

Side mount headers recommendation
Can anyone recommend side mount headers for me? I'm still looking around for the "right" manufacturer, material and coating.
This would be for a small block in a 78/79. Any difference for a 72?
Has anyone tried running without muffler inserts on the street???? :-)

I have Jet-Hot silver coated Hooker on my 69 BBC. They take a little cleaning from time to time, but no complaints. I also have STS baffles. Not horrible loud until you mash the go pedal. Then real loud. I've run it with no baffles/mufflers too. Just a bit too much for me. And my 69 is red, so it tends to attract enough LEO attention without all the added noise.

I have the stainess OBX branded ones on my 74 which are sold under multiple brand names. I had sweet thunder 2 1/4 inserts which were too loud for me so I switched to chambered vettepacks which have a great sound without the drone.. as far as the actual headers and sidepipes..They have held up fine as I would expects stainless to do.
