Default -69 with LS3

Hello. I’m swapping in a LS3 out of a -12 Camaro SS. I know most guys is using the F-body oil pan and accessories, but does anyone have experience of using the stock Camaro LS3 pan? (With steeroids rack) I know it’s quite deep so I’ll most likely cut an inch off the bottom making it shallower. Also, the harmonic damper of the Camaro is the longest of LS3, it’s 1.5” longer than the Corvette. Anyone knows if I’m running into problem there?
Regards,
Johan

I have the LS3 oil pan on my 69 and 73. It is lower than the F Body oil pan but holds more oil, but the stock power steering will not work with the LS3 pan. The LS3 belt drive system will not work. I used F body system on the 73 and corvette on the 69. F body fits best IMO.

Thanks a lot. Your LS3 oil pan, was that out of a Camaro or Corvette? I have the Steeroids so it shouldn’t be a problem.
Did some measurements, lookes like the oil pan will sit around 2.5” off the ground. Kind of close. How is yours?

I have an LS3 out of an 09 Vette and am running the stock pan in my 72. I had Steeroids in the car and it was tight but it fit. I am now running the Borgeson steering box with no issues.

Thank you both.
And Gordon, I’m just curious why you switched your Steeroid for a Borgeson? I’ve just heard good things about the Steeroids rack.
