Default '79 Temperature sensor wire powered or no?

Not sure how the temperature sensor works on my kids '79 L-82. There are two unused wires in the vicinity that have the blade style connector that would mate with the sensor, one is 12v ignition and the other is no power. Wires are GRN (NO PWR) and a BLU (12V IGN ON). Thanks

Just looked through the schematics in my '79 service manual and I found nothing anywhere in the car with green and brown wires in a two-conductor connector.

The temp sensor works by varying resistance to ground and only uses a single wire. The wire is not hot.

Temperature sensor wire is green and the brown one could possibly be the 12v sensing wire for the alternator.

Thanks guys! The alternator does have a blade connector w/o a wire attached, I'll look up what that sensing wire is for. We'll try hooking up the GRN sensor wire and hope the temp sending unit is still functional. I found some barely used power window regulators on ebay so that's next up on the to do list. We really appreciate all the help we get here.

We don't have any 2 conductor connectors that I'm aware of; but we don't have an electric fan like Interpon has.
