Hello, I have a problem with the fuel gauge in my 82 Corvette. When I drive in a straight line, the fuel needle correctly shows the level. If I drive uphill the fuel needle shows less, if I drive downhill the needle goes full.
Shouldn't there be damping so that the needle does not directly indicate how the petrol in the tank behaves? That means the needle is too sensitive. As written, I drive on a flat route, everything is OK.
Hi, Mocse. My friend had the same problem. He said it was in the gauge itself. Apparently it has some fluid in it that can come out that dampens the effect and prevents the problem. He bought a new gauge.
