Default Oem Rear sway Bracket problem

Pass rear Oem swaybar link. Seems to be bending as shown. Drivers side is not bent. I took it off and bent it back straight. This is the second time bending. Any ideas ? Thanks

I'd start by cutting that bolt a bit shorter. I bet it's hitting the frame.

Do you have the rubber suspension travel bumper installed on that side? If the suspension bottoms out, perhaps that is enough to raise the trailing arm up and crush the sway bar mount.

Here's a thread with discussion of the bump stops.

But start with the bolt.

Interpon, can you describe how your car handles now with the OEM 7/16 bar versus no rear bar? I strongly think that a C3 SBC with s 1 1/8 inch front bar and a rear 7/16 or 9/16 bar is very balanced compared to most C3's with no rear bar .....

Default Thanks

Well that’s exactly what it was. Bolt too long hitting frame. Yes I have the bumpers on. Seems the drivers side bolt was not long.

well..
I absolutely thnk its balanced just at neutral right now with 7/8 front bar on it now...i can get rear to slide if i try...even with lower tire pressure
i still will be adding 1 1/8 bar If my back ordered bushings ever get here!,!!!!

will report on my gymkhana thread

I'm glad it was an easy fix.
