Default Drive Shaft

I'm in the process of replacing the u-joints on the drive shaft of my '69 427 stroker. Any idea if this drive shaft is a 1310, 1330 or a 1350...how do I find that out? Been looking on Dennysdriveshaft.com, took all the measurements, #B11 is 1.062, #B10 is 3.6, and the #B10A is 2.4. Closest I come is a 1310/1330. Don't have any of the other measurements as I'm only replacing the u-joints. Your help is appreciated.

I copied that chart from the internet and have posted it a few times and no one posted back any problems or corrections.

1330s for driveshaft ... 3.625" width, 1.062" cap diameter. 1350s are for the half shafts ... same width as 1330 but have bigger 1.188" cap diameter. 1310s are 3.219" width with 1.062" cap diameter. I use DANA 51310X & DANA 51350X.

Rock Auto is a good go to for specs (INFO button): https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...sal+joint,2392

The above chart posted by Peterbuilt is correct. I did the driveshaft u-joints on my stock 69 big block/4spd and they are 1310's and for an auto trans only are 1330's.

I'm doing my u joints today. 1968,,, 1310. Fingers crossed. Replacing all the U bolts. How is your trans rear seal? This would be a good time to change it, if it is leaking. Also look at your front drive shaft yoke for ridges.

Sorry to jump on the thread, but I have two Spicer U-joints that are supposed to be for the drive shaft on my '68. However, I don't see any numbers anywhere close to 1310 or 1350 or anything like it. How do I know if they are the right ones? Pics included. My car is a four speed sbc

Larger, hand written numbers that are the same from bar code on other side

No other numbers. What do I have? And how do I know that?

Make sure you mark the drive shaft before you remove it. Front to back looks the same. Mark the rear yoke to install it the same way. DOH!

There is supposed to be a paint mark on the rear of the drive shaft and the differential yoke so they line up. ,,,, but I don't know of anyway to see it. Maybe someone else can tell us how to know which end of the drive shaft goes forward.

My front has a welded bump that my driveshaft guy used to mark the front and as a mark for the balance. He said I HAD to put it together the same to maintain balance

Is that an original bump or something that somebody added?

Ok my driveshaft, unknown year, has two additions to the main shaft:

This is the round one, and I would say it left the factory with this. If I was a betting man I would bet this the factory weight or balancer. But I am not a betting man.

This is on the opposite end from the round "weight". I would consider this a smaller mark than the other, and would guess this to be front. Do I win the chicken dinner?

No chicked dinner. Every shaft has balance weights on them. Every shaft has different sizes depending on the balance required. They say it has to be installed correctly,,,,, but like yours,,,, mine is also rusted a lot. I would think any balance has long ago been thrown off from all the corrosion

My shortened shaft is in balance without weights, it originally had one small weight. My other shaft has 2 big weights. It’s like balancing a tire, sometimes you get lucky
