Tom is referring to the key warning buzzer he and I talked about in the past.
I have original samples Tom, but it is the sound that may be the issue. I can make the buzzer no problem... but can I make the same tone.... I'm not sure. I'm afraid that is going to be hit or miss and I'm not sure that people would want them if they didn't make the same noise....
I have them on the burner to check out but that is as far as I've got with them.
This low fuel module is consuming a bit of time for sure so I'll re-visit that when this project is completed.
Touching the bulb only applies to halogen bulbs (like H4's). You can finger a normal incandescent bulb (like a taillight or dash bulb) all day and it won't affect it...
When I was young every time I passed a gas station I would check the fuel gauge to see if I needed gas and maybe use the restroom. Now every time I pass a gas station I check to see if I need a restroom and I forget about gas.
This circuit board appears self contained and may be adaptable to the existing fuel tank sender in earlier models. Is this possible restomod for a 1973?
Does anybody's low fuel light work on their C3? If so, when does it light?
I have driven the car for about 25 miles, after the gauge says empty but the light does not go on. What fuse controls this fuction? I know its not the bulb, because I replaced all of them when the dash was out.
By the way, the car is a '77.
Thanks
Larry
You could not pay me to run mine that low to find out. The tank has never been out of the car and no telling what is in the last bit of fuel. I may be paranoid, but I always get fuel at about an 8th of a tank at the least.

Yes it does work....however...My fuel gauge does not work. I know that somewhere between 150% full tank and 180% of a tank, I need to get gas. I was clearly at 150% for a while but I was on the way home and a gas station was 5 mins away so I figured I would test it out.
I was screaming down the highway at about 120 km/h (~75) when the low fuel indicator popped up and then the car IMMEDIATELY began to lose power...
After my wife came with a jerry can of fuel, I relayed the story of how I determined that the fuel light gives you 0.67 seconds warning that you are about to run out of gas.
Thanks Tom.. Long time coming. I started on this project about two years ago and kept pushing it backward with some of the easier stuff we nailed down. I'm pleased...
My 78 fuel light works but like others said only comes on when the tank is really low. The 2 gallon rule sounds right with the needle below the E on the gauge. I have owned the car since 1983 and believe the light has come on twice in all those years-i was sweating about running out of gas!! Until the light came on, i too wondered if it worked.
