In the words of Scooby-Doo. Rut-Row.
Now I see why one purchaser said his wires would not reach. That's a close call. I see the concept. It moves the fragile wires away from the headers.
I will have to think on that.
Thanks.

Ok, on the RockAuto AC Delco it says tooth count (bendix) it says 11 T.
Most of the others were 9 teeth. Must have something to do with the 153 / 168 tooth count.

On the earlier post, the CVR, it states "straight" bolt pattern, which likely matches all those engines you listed.

I need "staggered". So that's out.
I will keep searching. The perfect, reasonable, mid priced unit is out there, somewhere.
Sure like the looks of that Bosch. But without any reviews / feedback I am leery.

The double straight bolt pattern. Use the Straight Bolts from the 153 tooth style starter. But starter is mounted with the two farther inboard holes and that moves the starter gear out to the correct place for the 168 tooth starter using the same nose and same drive gear. As for the 11 tooth bendix, they moved the center of the bendix away from the flywheel enough so 11 tooth meshes correctly. https://www.ebay.com/itm/High-Torque...8d18dd422c1436. There's a million of these out there from 35 to $350. I think the main difference is the amount of money the middle man is making.

As w/ any starter retrofit, Correct bolts are a Must ... sans that failure will ensue
Perhaps starter comes w/ correct bolts; perhaps not ... Pay Heed to following TSB

Follow up data.

Here is what I found in the last 24 Hrs for anyone buying a starter.

The straight bolt mounting flange will not clear some oil pans. It seems my Moroso extra deep is one of those. The extra bolt hole in the block is too close to the oil pan rail. Some modifying of the mini starters flange would be in order. No thanks.

The wiring harness to the starter comes from the top, firewall area. On most Mini starters solenoids, the two wiring lugs are farther away from original lug area. Check to see if your wires have any slack. Mine do not.

Several purchase reviews of mini starters complained about the bendix not fully engaging the flywheel. Because there is not a nose-cone but rather a flat mount, it hinders the bendix from coming out far enough.

Several mini starters claimed: Not for use with advanced timing more than stock. It seems that "kickback" will void the warranty. Something about the mini bendix will not retreat in the event of IGN kickback during cranking.

Header clearance is a huge issue with some minis. I do not have the room to clear the solenoid even if clocking the mount.

What I did like about mini starter research was the gobs of torque, better gear reduction, lighter weight and if possible, the wiring was away from heat.

I ended up with a name brand H.D. stock configuration starter from Summit with extra torque.
When I pulled the old starter out, low & behold the solenoid had a brown ceramic end cap. I bought that from NAPA three yrs ago. It cost twice as much as a china unit and is still clicking. Not so with the Delco starter with a unknown date.

So, do lots & lots of research. Read all the reviews, especially the one star / two stars and the reasons why of that rating. Compare prices, ask about warranty.
