Re: Ever go to replace a $5 part and end up... (adam)
Got it from Chicago Corvettes...
Actuially it's not replaced yet (which is quite funny in itself). I decided since the rest of this stuff really neededto be replaced anyway, might was well get it out of the way so that it would be easier to get the the bushing.

I see you've officially become insane like the rest of us, those "while I'm at it" things will get you every time. I have a little of the red conduit if you want it, come and take it away. Glad I never decided to tear into the dash now that I see your picture :D
Re: Ever go to replace a $5 part and end up... (Fevre)
Fevre,
There are two vacuum ports on the side of your light switch behind the dash....there should be two vacumm hoses going into these ports....you can feel up under there for the ports and rubber hoses....if one of them slipped off....the problem you discribed will exist. If you look around up there you should be able to find the hose that came off....stick it back into the vacant port....Shazam-a-lamb-a-ding-dong..... :seeya Pimp Daddy Cappy

Hey Monkeywrench;
What are the dimensions of that clutch bushing? Primarily thickness.
I've been using some washers, but the pins keeps busting (because I'm
putting the washers on the wrong side of the clutch.

Don't know yet. Part hasn;t arrived and I haven't gotten to actually pulling the pedal. You mean the cotter pins that connect the clutch pedal to the clutch rod?
Yep mine kept shearing off too. I'm actually going to take the pedal out, cut off the stud on the pedal and put in a fabricated bushing and a sholder bolt and then put a Nylock (aircraft locking nut) on the back side. This will make the clutch pedal linkage bullet proof. I'm taking pictures as I go along and I will post them all once I get done.
