Nearing completion on my vintage air install on my 69 non air coupe. I installed a secondary electric fan on the front of the evaporator. It is wired to the trinary switch which engages it based on a pressure switch. Essentially when the AC is engaged.
my question is whether I should install an engine temp switch as well? The fan wiring harness has a wire to connect a temp switch.
if I do install a temp switch what is the best location? Engine block? See below for a pic of a plug on the front of the block that may accommodate the switch.
I’ve used the big port on the front of heads to run manual temp gauges bolted directly into each head on my drag boat motors.
This was back in the ‘70s and the heads were only a few years old.
Those plugs were near impossible to get out back then.
Now after 40+ years, I would think they would be rusted and fused into the head casting from the inside.
I would try to find another location and forget about pulling out that plug.
Just my opinion.

Oxy-acetylene torch those plugs on the head to cherry red and they come out easy-peasy. There should be an available port on each head where you can install a temp sensor.
