The answer to this one is simple. And if you've been lurking around this forum at all you'd probably know.
however, you need to talk to Lars. He's THE carburetor expert. Lars can rebuild your original properly, (Perhaps one of the only one's who can). Or guide you to getting the right core that can be properly rebuilt.
hopefully Lars will chime in, he's on here regularly.
And my advise to you is to listen to him.
If the current carb on your engine is a hacked commercial job, you need to locate a good rebuildable core. You cannot buy a "rebuilt" carb and expect anything but junk. If your carb is a non-hacked, worn out original, it can be rebuilt.

I will find a core and have it rebuilt.
Thank you very much.
Have a great day
Well, hang on to your horses a minute! You really don't want to dispose of an original (or even non-original but vintage) Q-Jet! (At least a number of us here don't want you to.) What #s are on the side of the carb? Can you post pics?
Thanks This carb is a summit rebuild i purchased in 2017. I can look up the numbers but I am sure its no where close to being vintage especially for what it cost 3 years ago.
under 325.00 from summit.
if it was close to vintage you are 100% correct. Rebuild it.
