Using search I found many how to fix - but what about simply deleting?
Unless adding more parts, using a key is required for entry anyway - so even if I fix them I won’t likely use. Both are gummy and are testing the metal strength of the key...would like a simple, manual locking door.
So, question is - are there any linkages required from the electric side or can they simply be deleted?
Will likely dig in this weekend, thanks for input!
Nope. Just remove them. The soleniod linkage ties into an elbow type hinge bracket that connects the locking mechanism up by the exterior handle to the lock **** in the interior. I took them out of my 80 for same reason. Plan on replacing them eventually, but low on the priority list. I also sprayed all of the linkages with graphite while I was in there. Manual locks work smooth now.
