On the '72 LT-1 we're fixing, the oil pressure pipe broke off just above the NPT fitting in the block.
Is it possible to just replace the conical bit that screws into the adapter in the block? If so, can someone please help me find fittings like that?
@ Derek: there isn't much to see - looks just like in the corvettecentral pic 67:72 posted. What we need is a conical brass "thingy" and possibly the hollow "nail".
These things are sure some kind of standard pressure fitting, no?
The two metal fitting pieces need to be from the same manufacturer so the connection will work properly. I think that line is 1/8", so you need a compression fitting for 1/8" tubing and a pipe fitting to adapt it to the block (1/8" NPTF, I believe).
You can purchase the whole kit...but you only need to compression fitting and the pipe adapter.
