Default Something's Leaking

Hey everyone!

I had an incident this afternoon. I was driving my 1981 and while driving, something under the hood made a noise not unlike a crack or a crunch, and my temp gauge suddenly skyrocketed, shooting from ~120 to just a bit over 260. I pulled over and let it sit for about half an hour before pulling back onto the road, and alas, the temp gauge did the same thing. I had someone follow me from the first stop to the second, and they noticed I was leaking something fierce onto the road. They said it was a greenish fluid that was coming out. Any ideas on what might be leaking?

Thanks in advance!

It's leaking money. You will need to put some $$ back in.

I hope you had it towed home! Get under and take a look. There are several hoses that could have split, or come off of an end. Post some photos.

If it isn't antifreeze, it's Vulcan blood.

fill radiator with water. start it. see where it runs out. don't waste money on antifreeze until leak is dealt with.

Running a 81 with the factory head's that hot is a great way to crack heads. I would suggest you open the hood and have a look.
