i am Looking for a smooth, not Performance oriented Clutch for my BB LS5.
Would you consider for example Zipp TM-105 66-70 11 X 10 Splines Clutch Disc & Pressure Plate Kit or the McLeod Street Pro Clutch Kit 75124
Any experience, suggestions or alternative?
again, absolutely no Performance Clutch needed, just want smooth a clutch and shifting.
I used a Centerforce dual friction on my modded 68 BB. Its selection is really quite valid as the pedal pressure is lower than other options (including stock clutches) and enables the smooth shifting you require - just be sure you follow break-in procedure.
The McLeod Super Street Pro is the #1 choice due to its ability to properly push the pressure plate diaphragm........a lot of others will not, and will not release clutch all of the way.

McLeod is the way to go, and if you have a McLeod pressure plate And it’s in Good condition, you can just upgrade the disc. They sell the discs at Summit and other parts suppliers. McLeod told me their single disc plates are all the same pressure, it’s the disc that provides the HP ratings. I have a 10.5 inch Setup behind my 500 hp 327....holds great
Although I had and liked a Mcleod Super Street pro behind my current motor, what I did not like about it is that the sintered/pucked side faces the flywheel, and chewed into the flywheel pretty good. RAM's power grip has the pucked side facing the pressure plate, which I think is a better set up. I will agree though that the pressure plate has a great feel.
With that said, I had put a Mcleod Street Pro behind my original LS4, and it felt better than the stock clutch it replaced. I would recommend this clutch to you all day long. Within the past year a friend did a manual swap into a Skylark with a 430 Buick. He is presently running this clutch and likes it.
The Street Pro has the same pressure plate as the Super Street Pro... very light, smooth engagement. Comes with a quality throwout bearing, and disc is organic on both sides. Excellent engagement and holding power for an application like yours.
Another option you may like is the RAM muscle car clutch set from Summit. Near as I can tell its the stock replacement clutch disc with a 400 series pressure plate.

I am on the Mcleod band wagon also. I have tried both of them and had great results. Good pedal pressure and great hookup , but you do have to break em in. I switched to the Super Street when I put the 406 in but also went with a steel flywheel, not iron. Good product.
Ditto on McLeod Super Street Pro. Just swapped out a Hays clutch set for the McLeod Super Street Pro Clutch Kit 75224 (11 in - 10 spline). Much lighter pedal and smoother. Easily handles 500+ HP.
....having read your using Mcleod 75224....11 inch clutch....what flywheel would you recommend....and what bell housing would you recommend.....Thanks Steve

I have the GM flywheel (168 tooth steel - #3991469) and GM aluminum bellhousing (#3899621) that came on my car ('70 L46) from the factory. Replacement flywheels are readily available and bellhousing was used across all Chevy platforms so lots of originals out there.
