Sorry about the poorly stated title. I can’t correct it apparently.
I’m probably being paranoid but...I ordered these two shocks a week apart due to my thinking I ordered a set the first time. From Jegs. Both single adjustable TR 508 R shocks per the boxes. Lined up they look nearly identical but the left one has a rubber spacer under the c clip and the right doesn’t. Boxes were slightly different colors and the top stickers slightly different. Should I be worried? I would never buy mismatched slicks but shocks?

Yeah. That's tough one. Ideally, the manufacturing/assembly processes would be consistent. But, in this day and age with non-skilled workers doing "skilled" work, mistakes can be made. Getting two of something from the same 'batch' likely means they will be the "same". Maybe not RIGHT...but the same.
If you can feel a difference with the seat of your pants, there's something different about them. I would also call Jeg's. Not sure what they can do after you have installed them. Maybe there's a batch code stamped on each that they can match up to.
If not, maybe try adjusting one a bit differently from the other to get them operating similarly.

If you swapped identical solid struts in, would your car scale out a perfect 50-50 right to left ?
I'd prefer all from same mfg lot & date, but you didn't order that. Sky ain't falling yet; except on metro streets & in legislatures.
Thanks all. I’ll call QA1. These were sent directly from the manufacturer so I doubt Jegs will know much. I haven’t installed them yet. Frankly I just don’t k ow much about shocks and these were a bit pricey at $170 each.
for the record though...every part on my 44 year old car is perfect so these shocks being off could be a major problem! And I don’t need a scale or any measurements to know this either. I can tell from eyeballing the car...
I contacted QA1 tech support and they told me as long as the laser etched number on the top of the shocks are the same then they are made identically. The rubber bushing is just a travel marker they started using. They are sending me a bushing and new stickers so they look the same.
