That filter caught my eye. Is that an adapter at the outlet? It looks like you've solved a problem that has puzzled me for a while. Thanks.
Yes. It's been awhile since I did this. If I remember correctly, it is an o-ring type filter & the adapter is an o-ring to standard brake line flare fitting. I may have gotten the info from one of Lars' fuel line papers but can't remember for sure. I'm out of town at the moment but when I get back, I can try to find my source for the adapters & could take a pic or two if that would help.

Lars,
Finishing up the fuel system on this 73.
I am thinking just mount the fuel filter where I have it taped up, 90* straight across the front of engine, and 90 * straight into carb.
I cannot tell if the original line went under/ over the heater port, but I feel in the cool air out front is the ticket.
Thoughts?

What thermostat housing are you using?
On my 71 the OEM hose outlet passes over the port I want to put the temp sensor.
Have you had any problems with having the sensor AFTER the thermostat instead of in the crossover?
Did you have any thermostat to sensor interference problems?
I did find a cool 1.25" spacer that VA makes with a port for the sensor. This allows the sensor to be BEFORE the thermostat.
I fear that with the hose outlet being higher the hose might kink or otherwise not fit.

Back home. Struck out on finding a part number for the fitting. They are o-ring to standard brake flare fitting adapters. I got them back in 2008 from Pure Choice Motorsports but I no longer find them on their website. The filter is an AC Delco GF481. I got the idea from Lars' old fuel line paper - the same paper Sky65 linked in post #33. But, he didn't spec these adapters. His paper references some brake lines you could buy that had the o-ring fittings on them. I stumbled onto the adapter fittings while searching for AN to standard brake flare adapters (which are still available). Anyway, here's a pic of the adapters:
By the way, Lars has updated his fuel line paper which no longer shows the o-ring style filter. His new paper uses an AN filter.

Yeah Lars always says contact him for the newest version of his papers.
Part numbers are in the old paper if you use a filter and he used 3/8 fuel line. One of the things I like about this line is he uses the spring amour, from the listed fuel line, over the lower part of the new line to protect it from road debris.
