Default Harmonica plug help

I have a question about the steering column harmonica plug on my 69 C3 coupe. I understand the plug is supposed to mount to the bracket on the underside of the steering column. It has been hanging loose since I purchased the vehicle. The male end of the plug does not snap into place and it was previously held together with electrical tape.

Are there supposed to be tabs that lock the ends together? If mine is broken do they sell replacement plugs. It appears the steering column end is hard wired into the steering column so I would like to avoid having to replace it if possible

Ends do not snap together. Very loose fitting

Male and female ends

Male end. Is this an extension?

Yours appears to be for tilt and tele steering column. I dont have tilt and its been so long since I replaced my directional switch.

However, the piece to the left in your hand is part of the directional switch wiring that goes up into the column. The piece on the right is an extension cable from what i can tell but not sure why they needed it and its been so long I dont recall if my non tilt column had that.

The pieces circled in green is where the connectors are supposed to lock but they dont seem to be holding for you. Not sure if the terminal circled in red is causing the connector to not seat all the way because it appears to not be seated in its slot anymore.

Instead of tape you could use a zip tie in the center of the two connectors between the wires and lock the two connectors together that way so they dont come apart rather than buying one. I see some places sell the turn signal switch and that extension cable . Not sure what that cable is called cant seem to find it by itself.

My car does not have the T&T column. Can I remove the extension? Will it still work? I will see if I can get the metal connector tab you circled to seat properly and see if that allows the ends to snap together.

Removing the extension was the answer. The connector that connected to the extension had the tab that allowed it to snap together
