PO cut a big hole in the metal part of the floor console where the rear light indicators are and took out all the parts associated with it to put a toggle switch in 😡
don’t want the hassle with replacing the entire part or restoring to original as many things on the car are not original, anybody have a suggestion on something to put in there or what to do with it?
If it were me, I would cut a thin piece of aluminum to fit that whole section (basically inside the silver outline). Finish it with some scotchbrite to a brushed finish and epoxy it in place.
I’m probably going to be doing something similar to my radio bezel (PO hacked it to fit a modern DIN radio but made it oversize)

thought about that or filling with thin layer of liquid rubber since it has the raised letters, the big hole and the cut out in the silver border But the aluminum might be a good contrast
