Default Edelbrock 2101 intake manifold

Hey everybody, I'm new to the forum. I have a 75 Corvette with the stock 350, I was recently given an Edelbrock 2101 intake manifold and I can't seem to get a definitive answer on if it will fit under my stock hood?

Put on on my 75, so close to the height of the origninal GM cast iron intake it's not even worth mentioning.
Does your 2101 have the hot air choke provision, if you need it?
Does it have the EGR provision, if you need it.

My 2101 had the hot air choke but no EGR. Which was ok because I wasn't running an EGR.

I have this one https://www.summitracing.com/parts/e...SABEgIVCvD_BwE

I dont believe it has the EGR. I would like to remove that at any rate. There is an EGR valvle on the stock intake.

Whatever gasket you use, make sure it does not have the exhaust crossover blocked IF you intend to keep the hot-air choke.
A good way to reduce the heat under the carb is to use a blocked off gasket on the driveer's side and an open gasket on the passenger side where the hot-air choke is located.
GM did that for awhile, not sure of the years though.

The 1205 will work but I recommend the 1204.....it is a "crush" style gasket and has a stainless plate to block the heat riser.....1205 is more for an aftermarket head like the Edelbrock head which is not cast with the heat riser passage.
As far as the choke stove is concerned......just convert the carb to electric choke with a kit.

I'm keeping the divorced choke. If I use the 1204, can I cutout the right side hot air block off?

No.....both sides must be open if keeping the heat riser valve or else damage will result. With the heat riser valve closed....your intake becomes the exhaust path to the other bank.
This is a terrible design.....I urge you to use an electric choke conversion.

Fel-Pro 1256 has the smaller ports and PrintoSeal around ports and the Xover is open both sides (for divorced choke)

This has open heat riser passage.....and the print-o-seal is a thinner gasket, I use them for aluminum head applications but the 1204 raised embossed type work much better and are plain foolproof....it also is blocked in the center.

Here's the std 71 replacement intake set MS 90314-2
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/f...14-2?rrec=true

First QA - Curious how Fel-Pro's rep recommends 1256 for Aftermarket Alum Intakes. YMMV

addendum of course 71 doesn't have humps, but pots same as 71's 487

Q:

will these work for cast camel hump heads with a edelbrock aluminum intake?

Asked by LUCAS on April 15, 2020
A:The MS90314-2 will work but Fel Pro found that the 1256 performance gasket seals better with the aftermarket aluminum intake manifolds

Fel-Pro Answer - April 24, 2020

Block the heat riser passages in the intake manifold and remove the heat riser valve from its axle so that it CAN NOT rust in closed position. If you don't drive the car in cold weather, there is NO need for the heat riser system.

My heat riser has been rusted/frozen/painted open for decades. I already have the 1204 gaskets. Can I remove the plate or drill a hole on the right side and use them?

And now... a dumb question. Why is the rear water cross over not used on the 2101 intake?

Thanks
