1972 with a 502. Muncie M22. New shifter, rebuilt trans. Went to shift from 2nd to 3rd and the shifter jammed up. Everything was adjusted. Got under the car and took the shifter arms off and tried to move the the studs where the arms on the shifter mount and could not move either one. I could move the reverse arm.Without putting the shifter into reverse. The rear stud on the trans the 1-2 stud is stuck. I can't get it to move.
Fixed it. Had my daughter push the clutch in and out and it came out of gear. I thought I was going to have to pull the trans and take the cover off.

When you rebuilt the transmission, did you install new shift forks? Old forks will wear and become thinner, which hurts shift quality and can cause jams. So, even though you have it working again now, you might experience the same problem again if you didn't replace the shift forks.
