I’m wanting to clean up the underside of car primarily the 4-speed gearbox and maybe a little of the engine area..it’s pretty greasy underneath and I wanna get clean to check for possible leaks..what electrical connections or areas should I avoid if any..I will be doing this with jacks and jack stands
Once you get it washed, start the car right away and let it run for about 10 minutes. The engine heat will get rid of any residual moisture you got up on the engine, like the plug wires.

To add to this, I used to go to those do-it-yourself car washes to clean my motor. Car was always warmed up and restarted right away, but I did protect the ignition system. I recommend you go for a drive first if you can to get things warmed up.

yes, get it warm and use enigne degreaser or a greaase cutter. Clean the big stuff by hand then look for any opening into the passenger compartment and dont get close to them. I cleaned my undrside entirely by hand with rags and a cleaner like simple green. It took longer but I didnt get it into the interior....good luck, dont drown
I'd recommend the product 'Super Clean', in the purple bottle. It's an excellent grease cutter, and then use a low pressure hose, to rinse off the crud. Then either drive the car around, for a while, to blow off the water, or use a leaf blower, while it's still on the jack stands.
powerwash it. whatever soap degreaser you want is fine. you have a powerwasher for a reason. alternative is too much elbow grease...and too much grease. next time under when it is cleaner you can go at it with the toothbrush.

It would be best to be careful while pressure-washing your car because you can easily destroy the paint on the body. For example, I have a pressure washing machine at home, but I have used the services of sparklewash.com to wash my car because I am not too good at controlling the pressure and the water power, so I didn't want to destroy the paint on my car. I have already done it with my old car, so I decided to let the professionals do this job and don't repeat the same mistake with the new car I got.
