Good afternoon all, I have swapped out my amp meter in my 73 for a volt meter as part of the LS3 conversion I am doing and I cannot find anywhere to labels for the posts on the back of this gauge. Any idea what goes to what? Should that copper stud in the middle have a nut on it to ground it to the back and are the other two the positive and negative? Any feedback is appreciated.

No nut on the stud, it will fry the gauge. Speaking from personal experience unfortunately. Sorry, I don't remember which is positive and negative. You can touch wires real quick to check. A second of reversed polarity won't hurt it.

I can’t remember how the back was wired I did take one of the ammeter wires for 12volt positive, capped the other wire and ran a ground to the birdcage. My gauge came with a diagram. I would just mark the posts 1 and 2 then briefly touch a 12 volt source and look for the deflection
