Default Big Block Manifold Options

Looking to replace the cast iron stock intake on my 70’s 454 engine for a single plane that’s best suited for EFI. Shooting for +500HP. Air gap style or raised plenum preferred if possible.

Need it to fit under the stock L88 hood with or without a drop base air filter.

What are my options?

TIA

You said for EFI. I installed a Edelbrock ProFlo 4 4150 on my 71 454 that has a L88 hood. The manifold, distributor, ECU, and other stuff comes with the package. You need to provide a coil that matches the specs for the unit, provide a high pressure fuel source, and install an O2 bung in the exhaust to get it up and running. I do not have the fiberglass inner part of the hood like your hood has. I was able to install a drop base air cleaner to gain the clearance from the air cleaner top to the hood. It also gave me port injection which eliminates the fuel distribution problem I was having. An additional benefit is that the heat cross over is not used. It looks like a 4150 carb until you see the injector fuel rails.
