Default Can I remove these items

1981
Im doing a 442ci LS7 & T56 swap in my fathers Corvette (as a gift to him)

Right now we are in the process of heat sheilding and sound insulating the interior.
After that we are going to remove all the facotry wiring harnesses we can and replace the ones that need to stay in the car.
My question in can I remove the PCM completly from the car without any issues? the pcm is located in the driver side storange compartment?
in the passanger side compartmetn looks like there is another computer of sorts... can i also remove that without any issues?
Pics:

The car has power windows and power locks if that matters any for what I can remove and what I cant remove.

Basically I want to get rid of anything that we dont need and put new anything that we do.
Thanks in advance guys!

Sorry I can’t help you, but just wanted to say how nice of you to do this for your father, good luck.

The ECM is in the drivers side and can be removed (you will have to replace the factory carb and distributor also of course). You may want to leave the items on the passenger side though. It is the anti-theft alarm/relay and the intermittent wiper controller.

But you should save the ECM and wiring for someone on this Forum who will need it in the future. That stuff is not readily available...especially 'original' parts.

Thanks for the replies guys!
StDomingos: That is exactly what I needed to know thank you

Yeah my Father is an awesome man! He loves this c3 but it fell into disrepair plus my mother never liked how the car acted like an old car (dead battery issues, starting issues, fuel smell, exhaust smell, not running right most the time, water leaking into interior, etc...). Since I have the ways and means to modernize the car for him I thought it was a great opportunity to give him something he always wanted.
