Default Dumb T-Top Question

Can anyone (ha, ha) tell me what the original colors of the GM t-tops were. Mine are two different colors and I'm curious which (if?) one is the original. Thanks for your responses.

As far as I know all T-tops up until 1978 were match painted to the cars. Around '78 GM also offered as options smoke colored or mirror see thru versions for those years thru '82. If you have anything other than that then there's a good possibility that the previous owner(if there was one) might have installed them and never got around to painting them to match the color of your vette(red).

My previous '80 came with mirror see thru t-tops.

Glass tops on all 1978-1980 and those 1981 Corvettes assembled in St. Louis are "laminated." Glass tops on 1981s assembled in Bowling Green and all 1982s are "solid tempered." Laminated tops have a bluish tint while solid tempered tops have a grayish tint. Collector Edition (1982) tops have a bronze tint.

The T tops on mine match the interior color...red. I have a set of mirror ones off of a 78 pace car. I do not use them much...they are to hot but are nice sometimes.

my glass tops that came with my 1980 were a blue silver tint (originally) and over the years faded to a kind of smoke color over the years. They were M-1131 type tops (number is etched into the glass by the logo). I think there were also some M-91's or something like that as well.

Check over in "Factory correct restoriation" part of the Corvette Forum. There was a topic in there about this as well.

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear on my question. I meant to ask "What were the original mirrored T-Top colors"? By colors, I mean sitting in the car and looking up through the glass. I have one T-top that has a blueish color and the other has a brown-amber-gold color. Which one is original or are either? Is there a marking on the T-top that I can look for and where, that might answer this question. Thanks again!
