Default Trailing Arm movement

Hello Everyone, I am presently in the middle of replacing the rear wheel bearings on my 81. I have everything apart except the trailing arm is still on the car. There doesn’t seem to be any play side to side but I can rotate the arm left and right. My question is if this rotation is normal or are my trailing arm bushings shot?

Thanks for any responses

Im gonna guess ..yes..
a pic of the bushing may be helpful too
its supposed to move like a rubber bushing...the clicking and not self returning would be my cut off...
and your already there!

Thank for the advice. This job has been one hell of a wrestling match so far, I might as well go the rest of the way. Still haven’t started on the right side yet.

Save the shim packs, and label them.
You will be quite close.
When you rebush it, they may not all fit. Remove EQUAL amounts from each side, and you will still be close.

Yes, I’m unfortunately doing it all myself. I enjoy doing the work myself but I have to say this job is one of the toughest I’ve attempted on this Vette. Seem like every step is a fight. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I looked at the bushings and without a doubt they’re toast.
