Default L88 Hood Recommendations

Does anyone have any recommendations for a quality L88 hood? One that fits pretty well out of the box.
I'm aware they have to be fit and worked over to be perfect but I'm looking for a hood that's close out of the box.

I've been very happy with my Ecklers L88 hood. Strong, well made and fit well (needed some trimming but they all do). But I bought it almost 20 years ago and I have no idea how it compares to whatever Ecklers sells now. But if you happen across an old Ecklers hood I'd say buy it.

I second this........the first pic is straight out of the box......the second is after paint of course. It did require knocking down the very front just a bit.....but the rest was spot on.

Bought mine from ecklers. Pretty good initial fit. However our cars are hand built so you will have adjustment issues. Question is will you run out of mechanical adjustments and have to shave, build

glass....

Go w/ Eckler's....I had a Vanacor's hood (when they were still in business) that used Eckler's mold. The fit was great, L88 airbox molded well.

+1 on Eckler's.
I got the long hood and it is great. Still needs a little love to get it to sit perfectly when you get it (depending on your car, I had mine loved since this picture) but it is quite nice.

How much extra hood clearance does the L88 provide? I'd love to put a better intake than the Performer on my '71.

That hood fits great. I suppose a lot comes down to the bodyshop taking the time to get it perfect. I've seen so many L88 hoods with aweful gaps.Did you get the one w/ the airbox?

I got mine from Corvette Central about 10 years ago. Painted it and bolted it on. Fits better than the stock hood did, which really isn' saying much.
