Default Wiper door vacuum switch Testing.

I purchased a new Vacuum door switch from corvette central and I have a testing question.
I've looked at wilcox and other videos on how to test the switch, but I'm seeing conflicting information on to where to pull a vacuum on the Switch.
If I use a mighty vac and pull a vacuum from the white (bottom) port , it holds vacuum with the button not depressed. The vacuum is released when the button is depressed.
If I pull vacuum from the red (middle) port it doesn't hold vacuum whether the button is up or depressed.
Is this correct?
Wilcox says pull vacuum from the red port.
Another source say pull vacuum from the white port.
I need may need to send this back to corvette central. Need help.

Ok, Without a picture I'm assuming your valve cost around $30 and has a white plunger

Welcome to the world of confusion on testing these. The Willcox site has the correct testing procedure.

It matters not if the white (bottom) port holds vacuum with the plunger extended. What really matters is when the plunger is depressed, vacuum is directed to the other port, whether it is red (middle) or white (bottom). It is also critical that there are no vacuum leaks internally between these 2 ports. You can check this by depressing the plunger and connecting to either port and blocking the other port. It should hold vacuum.

NO
Wilcox says pull vacuum from the red port.
That is correct
Another source say pull vacuum from the white port.
That is not correct! That has nothing to do with the actual sequence of the real operation of the valve or the wiper door system. This is an internet joke as far as I am concerned, and has been ongoing for far too many years.

I certainly would. Willcox has the correctly functioning valve. Find it here;

The conflicting info on this I actually find funny (not for you). All the imported valves are junk.

Dr. Doo---- did a video right after I did mine and the guy in Cinn.that imports them actually stopped me at a show and told me my video was wrong.... I pulled the schematics and tried to show him mine was right but he made his imported plunger based on the other video which has caused nothing but issues for everyone that buys it since. Dave J. pretty much answered your questions about this above.
