Dash Install
So Guys...
As I said in earlier posts I have got my self a 1977 vette in many many pieces.
I have finally gone through everything that came with the car - so much is missing. I have bought parts already but nowhere near what I need - costing plenty.
I am ready to reinstall the dash now after rebuilding it - (all instuments) - it was covered with some sort of oil and really badly contaminated.
Still got to repair the CUT wiring method that was used to remove the dash!
When I got the car the dash was already out, I have searched the interweb to see what the install procedure is and not having much luck with the 77 version! anybody got any ideas? is it the center gauges first or the speedo/tachometer first? I just need some direction please anything will help.

FWIW: the AIM has assembly diagrams of the dash installation. I work from left to right when doing the dash. Seems to work better for me that way.

I like to keep all the screws and parts “Loose Fitting” until all the parts are in their respected place. If you have new parts, the fit may be different from the originals. I have had luck using a Wagner Pro heat gun at the lowest setting to reshape/bend plastic parts. Remember that after many years of driving, sitting, and who knows what, not all parts will fit perfectly. No matter what I, tried the little filler plate on the emergency brake sits too much toward the passenger seat. I have learned to live with.

I have had to reinstall other dash panels in the past, however they were all single or two piece, the vette has 3 panels - I am unsure what order to fit them together. is it the center gauges first or do I put the drivers instruments first?

I like to do the drivers side first with all the bulbs/connectors, and steering column. Then I do the gauge cluster (AC Center Vent) and then the console/ e brake. The passenger side with the map pocket is done last and is the easiest. Also note that the kick panels and A pillar pieces need to be installed while other parts are loosely fitted.
