Wandering idle with q jet
It will idle very low or sometimes run up to 1500 rpm's. Rich smell, flooding, or no gas when cold and hard start. run on when shut off which has been getting worse? checked all vac lines and all is well but I think I may have a intake manifold leak. vac gauge indicates it. I had removed q jet to find power piston not working well with broken retainer ring. I cant find this part anywhere. I may just go out & buy a new carb?//

Would the feul pump effect normal running. If I am at 1400 rpm's or greater it runs fine? I can go up to 5G's without any problem.

Had a little surge in mine below 2000 or so. Fuel pump fixed that too. Plus, at take off it would bog down and almost shut down the engine. After I almost got hit in the rear, I new it was time to change it.
