Can't you return it? I hadn't thought much about it since I did mine. Somebody sells a contraption with an EFI pump that slips in in-place of the old fuel sender from underneath. Looks pretty cool..... ridiculously expensive for what it is, but a good idea. Anyway -- somebody reported that theirs failed and that's when I realized that it really is a lot better to have a fuel pump coming in from the top---- I can remove mine out of the top without dropping, nor draining, the fuel tank. Something to consider. Let me see if I can find that cool contraption.....

Did you do your fuel return mod?
FYI, when I had a Holley Pro-Jection (first EFI system I ever installed) I actually returned the fuel via the little vent you mentioned in the first post. AND I did a pressure check and I never had anything resembling abnormally high pressure on the return line. One of the reasons I went to fuel-return under fuel level is because I always had quite the fuel smell (I suspected it was from aerated gasoline being dumped back into the gas tank) and I read somewhere (?don't remember where?) that returning fuel into the open atmosphere of the tank could create a static charge (didn't followup, nor verify) .......
BUT anywhichway it's easier to return the fuel via the brazed-in 3/8" tube on the fuel sender locking plate than via that fuel tank vent fitting anyway.

I will do the sender unit mod, but will use the current fuel supply as return and brase in a wider 1/2" supply if I can find some fuel line here in europe.
Just remember that there is "sock" on the fuel supply tube inside the gas tank. You want that sock. I'm not sure why it would be difficult to find fuel line. For that matter---- can you just find some brake line?
How much horsepower are you planning to run that you need 1/2" fuel supply?
