Is there a flasher near the fuse box on a 76? If so does anyone know what type.

It's just a basic "round can" style flasher. Available at all car parts stores. Pull it. Take it to your favorite car parts store. Show it to the pimple faced kid behind the counter and ask him if he has one of these.

And spend $25 to buy a Haynes Manual for installation instructions. Here's an excerpt:

(1) Disconnect battery
(2) Remove defective flash unit
(3) Install new flash unit
(4) Reconnect battery

I've found the Haynes manuals to be pretty much useless. They are really tough on disconnecting/reconnecting the battery.
