Default Ignition problems

Gentlemen-
1982 Corvette with fuel injection removed. Pulled started and reinstalled. Tried to start, it turned over once but the second time lost all power to the car. After circuit breaker reset it did the same thing again.
Unhooked the starter and checked the wiring; re-hooked. Same thing happened again.
Where is the circuit breaker located? What am I missing?
I have owned the car for 16 years without problems. I know I might have shorted two of the wires. Is it possible I could have ruined the circuit breaker or melted one of the resisters at the starter on the wires and it is not showing?
Thanks for any help.
Gene.

I took pictures, I don't find a thing wrong with it. I think I will try another starter...I sure don't want to catch my car on fire. Thank's for the Input. Gene

There is a 10 gauge wire off the starter that powers the whole car......there is either a fusable link in it or it is a fused wire......you need to just replace it back as far as you can with solder or non-insulated butt connectors and shrink tube.......the wire can look fine but have an internal breach that separates when it gets hot. This is where my money is on it.....this wire, can work fine, then it is disturbed....breaking all but maybe two strands inside that will allow everything to slowly light up but not enough wire to allow proper amperage through it.

Thank-you Guys for making me think. I appreciate all the help. I'm going to check system by taking off the small wire, off the starter & turn the key to the start potion with the parking lights on, If the lights don't Dim. I will know that the starter Is the bad guy not the wires in the rest of the car. I Think,?? I will say a prayer! TOO. Can't hurt! ,
