Quadrajet cleaning
You can use the parts tray for small parts, but the airhorn / main body / throttle body need to be done in an aluminum pan. So I stick them in a pan, turn them over after a bit, then pull them out, rinse and blow through passages with compressed air.
Ultrasonic cleaners and larger parts baths are good too, I just don’t have the resources.
If your parts have paint, it will ruin whatever solution you use and take all the paint off, so you want to be mindful of that.

But....if the unit is not that bad....I use my 9 litre Ultrasonic cleaner. I "cook" it for 90 minutes at 80 degrees Celcius. Immediately after pulling it out, I spray with Berryman Carb spray....DO NOT WAIT! I use distilled water, Dawn, and a shot of Lemon Juice......I have been using this bio safe concoction for ten years and do many vintage bike carbs this way....they brighten up very nicely.
