i was wondering if anyone has custom side vents, behind front tire, mine is 1980 with those cheap black plastic ones, they are warped and not noticable on my black car. i would like some metal ones, anyone have info on this
I have a 1979 Vette. They did not come with side vents, but I plan on going to Home Depot and getting some aluminum craft pieces to build my own. I do not know how to weld, but I can make templates of what I want and take it to a welder that I trust to do a tasteful job. Just an idea....Good luck.....P.S. I plan on doing this for the front grills also....

Re: side vents (scorciae)
74-Roadster and I were discussing this recently for my '80.
I have already bought the Aluminum to build mine with. I have a design drawn up but it isn't final yet. I will probably do a mock up before I start them.
In case you start before I do I wanted to tell you about an Aluminum Solder that is available. It works withn real low heat, holds well and looks great. It also polishes up rather well. Using this instead of trying to weld on it will keep your work from warping.
Good luck and show me what you have when you get it designed.
