68-79 vs 80-82 Diff mount?
It would seem to me that the earlier style would be stronger and stiffen the frame more (particularly if the rubber bushings were replaced with aluminum or steel) since it can serve as another frame member.
note:
I’m asking about the mount, not the diff itself. I’m full aware that the iron diff is stronger (but heavier).

I like that the batwing design is substantially lighter. If I was going to modify my frame anyway I would put the C4 unit in from a stick (dana 44) and then add more gussets and stiffeners per the Chevy power book
