Default C3 dash / console alignment issue - photos

Greetings Fellow Corvette Enthusiasts,

My 1977 Corvette has an issue with the center gauge bezel and dash alignment. The dash pad is a new replacement and so are the center black plastic gauge bezel and black plastic shift bezel.

The shifter console bezel appears to be straight, however, the center gauge bezel is off to the right and under pressure - it's not lining up with the center shift bezel and attempting to straightening it creates pressure - the two plastic tabs in front could break if I secure the shift console with center gauge bezel with those two screws in the back. There has to be another way, something isn't right.

It seems like I've missed something when reassembling this... Maybe wiring should be tucked behind that center ductwork?

It's almost like the entire dash is shifted to the right...any suggestions on fixing this? I've read and re-read this article on C3 dash sag, https://www.c3vr.com/vrforums/c3-int...ad-sag/480858/ which is why I pulled the seats and followed his instruction.

When I received my new C3 Corvette Replacement Dash Pad from TFA / Corvette America - the push clips were loose and definitely not as snug together as the original pad I had removed. This could be contributing to the dash sag issue I experienced when it was assembled last week but there's an issue with alignment somewhere. The center gauge black plastic console seemed like it was causing the center of dash to sag. It felt like the weight of the center console gauges was held up by the center dash pad and dash struggling to maintain shape.

Under the dash pad, my 1977 corvette only has one supporting arm connected to the firewall that screws into dash pad with a single screw, I'll try loosening that again to see if that does anything but I feel like I'm missing something.

It seems other CF members have had similar issues. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...correctly.html

Did you take pictures before you disassembled the dash? I have a 77 and you must place every cable. hose etc in its place. There are no books on the dash etc install that i can see. Find another menber in this forum who can send you a picture of his dash etc exposed. That is your only source. Good Luck
