I noticed that the big trucks come with a 427 -- now on flatlanderracing they sell spacers so you can use these tall deck blocks specifically mentioning the truck motors. I can get a refurbished motor for under 2K. If its the same tall deck as in the bow-tie racing block as a 10.2 deck height I think it could work if I got a new top end with the spacers. I know they are high torque engines I am just curious if this is a cam thing or a cylinder head thing and if I can change the cam and make a pretty good performing engine. Its a thought on making a 427 on a really small budget

Here is a refurbished 427 from a passenger car back in the day

the main thing ive heard is that tall decks wont fit in C3s, i dont know for sure as ive never dropped one in a C3, but i have seen the diffrence between a tall and regular deck BBC, and it is a visual diffrence.

with my motor, i probably wont have a spending limit. thats the quickest way to **** myself off  i will probably spend arround 5-7K after all is said and done, but it will be spread over a couple years, so it wont bee too bad of a shock. the ROD 6-Speed is gonna be the pain!
