I am forced to rebuild my 68 L79. I want use a aluminium intake. I also want to keep the oil fill tube on the intake. Any suggestions on what spreadbore intake to use. I do have a line on a Z28 intake but was curious if a modern one flows better.

What hood do you have? If its an L88 hood the Edelbrock RPM is the best flowing dual plane on the market and you can drill the pad for an oil fill tube. THe EPS has the oil fill option as well and it fits under the stock hood. It will flow somewhere around the Z28. I had and old rightup on intakes...I'll look for it
If you are keeping the spreadbore carb (Q-Jet) the only options you have are the 2101 Performer or the 7104 Performer RPM O-Jet....bot have a boss for the oil fill tube that can be drilled out.
All the other intakes including the Z/28 intake are square bore. I do not recommend that you adapter the carb to the intake either....defeats the purpose of getting a better flowing intake.
