T - top key

Greetings all. I just purchased my first Corvette. It’s a 1978 Silver L 82 auto. Just starting to go through it and discovered there is no key for the t-tops. What would you recommend for my course of action?

My 80 came with the remnants of an aftermarket locking system, but the locks were not installed, and the keys were not present. I don't believe it was stock. Can you remove your T-Tops now, or are they locked in place by the system? Can you post some photos so others can better advise you?

When I bought my 82, it had locks on the t tops with no keys, I dug out my pick set and had them open in five minutes.

maybe I should buy some picks and learn a new skill

Or have a locksmith do it. He may be able to make a set of keys that will work for you. Those look really clean.

It was an estate sale. Previous owner is deceased sadly.
