Headers removed while engine is being re-built and I want to replace with either stainless or ceramic coated. Debating which option to choose. Car currently has Hooker Super Competition that are very rusty.... BUT, I also discovered that they have been hitting the ground - maybe a lot. Questions are...
1 - Overall durability and corrosion resistance of Stainless vs. Ceramic. I like the ceramic for the heat resistance, but I am concerned that they will rust from the inside, and wherever they scape the ground.
2 - Doug's. Vs Hooker. Doug's are heavier gauge tubes and thicker flange - so more metal, but will they bolt on the same way both at the heads and the sidepipes under the rocker panel
?
3 - Anyone else with sidepipes have issues with scraping the ground like this? If anything, the car seems to ride high and I was thinking about lowering it, but now I am not sure I can.

I love my Hookers! Anyway, they are stainless steel and my sidepipes are NOT the lowest point on the car. Imo, the best material for sidepipes is stainless steel.
On my not-very-lowered 80, the front bumper reinforcement hits things, but I've never scraped the sidepipes. I don't drive on Philadelphia roads, though.
