Default 68 part?

Came across the 2 parts as I was putting the car back together.

Mystery parts
Not sure if they are from the vette.
Anyone recognize them?

Coupe or convertible? I have a 68 convertible and don't recognize the parts off hand.

If they are plastic they get riveted inside the kick panels behind the speakers. Yes 68-69 part. 4x10 8 ohm speakers for kick panels.

Seeing these in my car made we wonder if the GM engineers back then had the fore-thought to protect the speakers from the inevitable shower of rust and water from the bird cage up above!

It’s a convertible.....and YES...now I remember having to pull them off when I installed new speakers.
It’s been a year since I pulled them off, and my memory isn’t what it used to be.
Thanks for the help.

When I took all apart my under the hood ac stuff, I marked it all in zip lock bags cause I knew I would never remember where this all goes.
6 years later hah I was right. So glad I marked the bags.
