So I have a 1970 and I just got an original carburetor rebuilt (#7040202), and I purchase a while back a new throttle cable and a new ball stud (supposed to fit '68 to '73)... I'm trying to figure out why the ball stud is 5/16th but the holes on the carb are 1/4... so the stud doesn't fit in any of the holes on the carb bracket. The bracket is original to a 7040202 carb.
No biggie, I'll either try and find a smaller stud, or I'll drill the hole bigger, but am just curious if anyone knows why there is a difference in the size of the stud where it won't fit in any of the bracket holes.
