Wheel offset confusion
So I’m going from my 18x10.5 (+40 offset) wheels with 275/35r18 tires in the front, to 19x12’s (+79 offset) with 325/30r19. Using same 3 inch spacers. Now, this setup looks damn near perfect to me from a side profile. The previous setup looked way too “in” the fender well. Here’s my confusion, using a wheel offset comparison calculator, it’s showing the 19x12’s should be sitting more than a half inch further inside the fender well.
what am I missing here? The math just defies what I’m seeing.

Using 3" spacers:
18x10.5" wheels, +40 mm offset = 4.32" backspace (7.18" from the stock hub flange to the outside of the wheel, plus the tire bulge).
19x12"wheels, +79mm offset = 6.61" backspace (6.39" from the stock hub flange to the outside of the wheel, plus the tire bulge).
So the diagram is correct. Your new wheel sits almost an inch further inboard at the outside, and 2 1/2" further inboard on the inside.
Perhaps the tires make up any visual difference?
