Default Vacuum line touching valve cover

Hi,

Just curious if anyone has a picture similar to the one below of their engine... mine's a 1970 350/300hp. There appears to be a couple of vacuum hoses which go from the solenoid/spark control to likely the distributor and carb... the hoses are touching the valve cover, so I assume that that is not good, and the rubber hoses may develop a hole in them over time... I think I will try "prying" them a little further so they don't touch the valve cover, or maybe I can use some heat reflective tape to surround the hoses.

Anyhow, if someone has a good picture of this area of their engine bay (passenger side), I could compare to it.

Thanks...

I'm not sure the valve cover heat is going to affect the hoses, but... If you pull the air cleaner assembly off, you may see a way to route just a little differently. Or, you could snip off the ends little by little to shorten and make the path straighter.

Completely irrelevant - a non-issue. They will never develop a hole over any amount of time. GM had several valve cover designs with vacuum hose clips on them that held the hoses tightly to the valve covers. A valve cover seldom gets above 180 degrees. Your rubber heater hoses run hotter than the surface temp of the valve cover...

Thanks Lars... I'll leave it as-is...
