Wipers getting stuck going up
I am working on a 1979 L82 for my neighbor. His wipers were working intermittently and eventually not at all.
Upon inspection i found a broken connection inside where the plug is (spring looking wire).
Anyway, i replaced the motor today and found that when the wipers are going up (at any speed) they freeze and require manually moving the wipers to get them to move.
If i take the drivers side arm completely off, they will work but do get very slow in the same spot on going up.
I also tried this with using only the drivers side wiper...same situation. If i take the wipers off completely, the motor looks to be spinning at full force.
Everything has been greased and i tried multiple arm positions to no avail. any insight? Also to note i have a new ground going straight to the wiper body cover bolt from the plenum and have tried several locations on the body with no change.
If you haven't returned the other wiper motor and want to replace the burnt switch assembly you can find many for under $30.00 and shipping on ebay.

I set them right and applied some window cleaner and they did function properly. Another thing to note: after all of these tests the battery is to low to even start the car (he doesn't drive it much) So i will try again with a fresh charge and assume they will work 100%.
thanks for the help!
