Default Suspension Help

I'm thinking of rebuilding the front suspension on my 76 because it just does not drive as well as I think it should. I would like to get advice on parts, suppliers, and any other advice you might have for me. Thanks!!!

See my front end job. One of the most satisfying jobs to results i ever did..
i would also
- consider new springs...shocks. Bigger sway bar..
- i used rubber usa
- used moog but watch out for slipping Quality in non Usa parts..go with USA when possible.i had sub par moog non usa part..
- i used rock auto, zip, and paragon. I love when they tell you where made.
- align it yourself..see below
- Lars paper was invaluable to me and his help and many others..email him and ask for latest paper
- detail as you go if you like ..good luck!

state what you would like to do above or same as oem..my biggest upgrades were all new bushings ball joints. U Joints, front and back and mimicing the Gymkhana suspension with better shocks too...not harsh at all..many others can guide you to get where you want to be.. i do recommend oem rear sway bar too..

Double check but these should be right

MOOG K6035 (2x) (ball joint lower)
MOOG K6034 (2x) (ball joint upper)
MOOG K5196 (2x) (control arm bushing upper, pair does one side)
MOOG K304 (1x) (control arm bushing lower, 4 pieces in the kit, does both sides)
MOOG ES323L (2x) (tie rod inner)
MOOG ES323R (2x) (tie rod outer)
MOOG K6100 (1x) (Idler arm)

Front Wheel bearings
TIMKEN 9406S Wheel Seal (x2)
TIMKEN SET5 Wheel Bearing Inner (x2)
TIMKEN SET3 Wheel Bearing Outer (x2)

I bought all my rubber bushings from Bair’s as I wanted to be sure they were Made in USA. If there is nothing wrong with your ride height, I would not recommend to change springs. I would not recommend to replace the roll bar if all you are planning to do is restore the operability to what it was when new. Put in a new set of Koni shocks. Whatever you do, don’t use polyurethane!

You will likely see a huge improvement just from freshening up the front end, but I would add to that rack and pinion steering and a spreader bar.
