I'm running 1 3/4" Hookers and the collector flange is barely touching the floorboard. I was going to crank the engine and wait till the collector did it's damage and then fiberglass it or whatever needed to be done to fix it, but then I thought I'd better get your opinions first. Any ideas??
I see you have put in a 4L60 tranny in, did you get it mounted at the correct angle? Don't think those headers should be hitting the floor board and may be caused by the tranny mount being located to high. Just a guess though.
BTW I have read that if it mounted at the wrong angle it can cause drive shaft/u-joint problems too.
Motormounts are brand new and used the tailshaft from the original 700R4 with new rubber in the mount. Nothing should have changed from the way the origial Tranny or engine were mounted.
Before I discovered this site, I had read a few write-ins in magazines about problems with 1 3/4" Headers. Hooker assured me there would be no issues though. I trial fitted them with a plastic engine and they looked fine so I sent them to Jet Hot to be coated. I'd seriously hate to have to send them back to Hooker.
It's only on the driver's side and barely touching. The engine torques toward the passenger side right?
